Exciting Addition

Graham Connor, our second baby boy, will join our family on/around May 27. Of course, we are excited and grateful!

We took E to see Winnie the Pooh this weekend. On the way, Mamaw Mays said, "I'm anxious, E. Are you?" E replied, "Nooo . . . I'm happy!" It was a really cute movie. More than the movie, I think E loves the popcorn and Diet Coke the best. He is only allowed to drink milk and water and he is absolutely obsessed with our Diet Coke. I do mean obsessed, too. So, when we go to the movie, we let him get one, too. He grins from ear to ear everytime he gets a drink.

What Is A Mother To Do?

I know, two post in three days. I am on a roll. I hesitated as to whether I was going to share this, but I decided, it was too shocking/funny/disgusting not to share. E, 26 months old, will do something over and over again if he thinks someone will laugh. Also, if you give him any indication that something is gross/nasty, he thinks it is hilarious to do it. With that said, a lot of times I will ignore something he says/does if drawing attention to it will only make him do it more.

Well, this morning, in the car, E said, "I take booger off my nose." I said, "Okay." He then said, "I put booger in my mouth." I hurriedly said, "Nooo, that is gross, nasty. Wipe it on your shorts." Yes, that was a mistake, I should have just ignored him even though the thought of him putting it in his mouth was horrifying because E immediately started laughing and got that mischievous gleam in his eyes. A few moments later, I heard, "Emmm, that tastes pretty good!"

Yes, I thought I was going to die. However, at the same time, I covered my face so he could not see me laughing. I just hope this was a one time event.

It's All in the Phrasing

E can pretty much say anything now and I love how he phrases certain sentences. When referring to mowing the yard, he always says, "I cut grass off" or "I help Pop Pa cut grass off." And, even more funny, he will say, "Mommy cut E's fingers off. Mommy cut E's toes off." In other words, I trimmed his fingernails and toenails. He has also started to realize that he is not big enough to do certain things, yet. So, he has started to say, "I not bigger enough." Finally, he is two, so everything is "My do it." Well, I finally decided to start the grammar lessons and I told him, "E it is not my do it, say I do it." Now he says, "Say I do it."
